Target

Say Hello to Cat & Jack

No need to leave your TV to shop Cat & Jack, a new kids' clothing line with an imagination of its own. This TV app was designed and developed for the Back to School launch of Target's new kids clothing line Cat & Jack.

The Strategy

The Kids Are Dipped

To best rep the gear each kid is dipped head to toe in Cat & Jack. Making a purchase on a TV is a really hard problem to solve because nobody likes typing a shipping address from a remote control. We had to be creative and use the advantages of the largest screen in the house and feature the clothes using the beautiful photography we had. Selecting a kid takes you to the collection of clothes they are wearing allowing you to explore.

My Role

Director of Design

I led design for the team that created the T-Commerce product that enabled the campaign. It was a blend of interactive ad units to promote the brand and store as well as a dedicated app for shopping on TV. I also helped design the pitch that sold the agency on the technology and capability. I worked directly with their design and ad team to plan and launch the campaign. It was a pleasure to work with their beautiful imagery and assets.

THE DESTINATION

A Good Impression

Great, you pushed the boundaries and built a beautiful and engaging TV shopping app for Target. But great things deserve to be experienced. We needed to convert the national TV commercial impressions to drive to the app. We also took advantage of ad placement opportunities nested in the smart TV operating system. This is how we brought the people.
